FAQs

During an inquiry call, we will determine if concierge services can begin immediately or that an in-home, hospital, or facility consultation is more appropriate. This is a complementary consultation. A new client is asked to sign a service agreement and place a deposit for the first two weeks of service. If, however, the GCM director (Kelly MacRae) determines that the client’s functional status is precarious, Care Management will be recommended. This may involve assessment of the problems, a care plan, and monitoring.  Fees for this are billed at an hourly rate determined by the GCM director.

Our services are found here, however, we will adapt to your senior’s unique needs and try to accommodate a wide range of needs.

Senior concierges may or may not be medically trained, depending on prior work experience. We are not a home health agency and therefore are considered non-medical care. Generally speaking, a senior concierge may be a retired teacher or other semi-retired professional who wants to use their talents, skills, and abilities to enhance their client’s quality of life. They should be considered as another set of eyes and ears for the family. The senior concierge becomes a close, reliable ‘friend’ who anticipates the needs and preferences of the client. Senior concierges are excellent communicators to family members as to the senior’s status, an instrumental part of the job. They are able to relay detailed information after medical appointments and make sure the family is informed. The fee for a senior concierge is slightly higher than a traditionally trained caregiver because of their communicative abilities and experience in life and have a higher level of education with professional backgrounds. These qualifications are particularly valuable for busy adult children who may live far away and demand excellent communications.

Our hours of operation are between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Before or after hours will be billed at time plus one-half, and extended travel will be figured accordingly.

Yes, there is a three-hour minimum due to time and distance of location; also availability of concierge companion.

Yes, we do. If you ask us to help facilitate discharge from the hospital, we will closely follow protocol and discharge instructions, making sure your senior gets home safely and monitor them. We will communicate closely with family members, pick up prescriptions, and whatever is necessary for a smooth transition from hospital to home. Likewise, if it becomes necessary for our client to go to the hospital, our concierge companions will remain with them until they are admitted or released. We will keep our families informed at all times.
